Queensland's Home of Indoor Netball
Indoor Netball Federation of Queensland
Indoor Netball Queensland officially commenced in 1990 and from there has developed and grown in all areas of the sport. There have been many people involved in the development and improvement of our sport since its inception. All Member Centres have seen continuous growth over the years not only in Ladies but with the introduction of Mixed and Men into the sport it is now regarded as a family sport and a sport which can be played not only for leisure, but also offers opportunities to play for the State and Internationally.
In 1991 INQ affiliated with Indoor Netball Australia and for the first time participated in the Australian National Championships in Canberra playing Open Ladies and Open Mixed. The number of teams representing Queensland has now grown to include Men’s, 18 & Under, 21 & Under, Over 30 Ladies and Over 30 Mixed. In 1997 the introduction of Juniors saw representative teams from NSW travelling to Queensland to play our State Representatives Teams, from this concept the Junior Invitational Championships commenced where teams throughout Queensland travel to South East Queensland for selection in our State Development teams.
